Tips for staying healthy throughout a holiday
If you have spent months planning and paying for a holiday, the last thing you will want is to fall ill and spend most of your getaway stuck in your hotel room. Likewise, while you should give into indulgences during your break, go over the top and you could be spending weeks getting your body back in shape.

Follow our top tips in order to enjoy a well-deserved break without it being detrimental to your health.

Be wise with your food
Youre on holiday, so there is nothing wrong with enjoying a few treats when it comes to food. Just try to include a few healthy bites too!

Planning a hearty meal at a restaurant for dinner? Have a healthy breakfast made of fruit, eggs and natural yoghurt and enjoy light bites during the day. That way you wont feel as bad when you indulge in a feast later on!

Dont turn your back on water
Your choice of food is important, but drinking plenty of water is essential. Whether youre sightseeing or lounging by the pool, if the temperatures are high, dehydration is going to be a concern.

This is also a problem when drinking alcohol. While we are not saying you should go teetotal, it would be wise to avoid alcoholic drinks during peak temperatures. And, when you do drink, you should have a glass of water in between each alcoholic drink.

Avoid travel getting you down
If you suffer from travel sickness, make sure you have items in your travel bag to control it. Plan for this well in advance and you will have time to order airline-approved medication at brilliant prices from an online pharmacy like Medicines2U.

Getting up out of your seat can also help combat problems when the trip from A to B is a long one. If you are on a plane or a train, take a walk along the aisles once you are safe to do so. Travelling by car? Ensure you make regular stops so you can get out and stretch your legs.

Get subtle exercises in
The thought of jogging for miles while on holiday may not be your idea of paradise. However, you can sneak subtle exercises into your getaway.

Take the stairs in your hotel instead of the lift, for instance, and avoid shuttle buses to the beach in favour of a relaxing stroll in the sunshine. If your accommodation has a pool, you can have fun while swimming too.

Have a happy and healthy holiday!
