Clogged pores can cause a variety of problems. From acne to infection your pores play a large part in how people see you. How can you keep them clean and clear without breaking the bank? Here are some natural ways that you can keep your pores clean using things you probably already have in your home:
1. Lemon – The juice from a freshly squeezed lemon is great for clearing out pores. For the best results make sure the lemon is at room temperature or warm it slightly in the microwave. Then roll the lemon on a hard surface to break down the cells inside. Cut open and squeeze the juice into a small clean cup. Apply to your face with a cotton ball. Make sure you do not use lemon on your face more than once a week or it can dry your skin out.
2. Brown Sugar – A brown sugar scrub is a great way to remove buildup and clear away dead skin cells. The best method is done while you are in a hot shower. Wash your face first and then mix about one ounce of brown sugar with warm water until it forms a thick paste. Apply to your face with your fingers and gently scrub with circular movements. Rinse well with warm water and soap. The scrub should only be done twice a month.
3. Honey – Honey has natural antibiotic properties and works great as a face peel. Spread a thick layer of warmed honey over your entire face and let it dry. Then peel it off carefully. If the layer refuses to peel or you have issues, wash off with warm water. The honey should pull out any toxins from your pores.
4. Yogurt – With its abundance of good bacteria yogurt can help to clear up your pores. Apply a thick layer of plain yogurt to your face and let it is for fifteen to twenty minutes. Then rinse off with warm water.
5. Vinegar – Apple cider vinegar is a great solution to problem skin. Dry, flakey, red skin can be healed by a regular application of vinegar. It not only kills bacteria and fungus with its mild acidity but it also helps to smooth skin and heal cracks and flakes. Make vinegar a part of your regular skin care routine by mixing equal parts water and vinegar and using it as a toner. A vinegar soak is also great to use on cracking feet or elbows.
These are just a few of the natural ways that you can keep your pores clean and fight off acne and other skin issues. Treat your skin well and you will be rewarded with a fresh, healthy looking face.
